Lemongrass is a tropical plant native to Southeast Asia and a common ingredient in Thai cuisine and used to make herbal tea. Now grown in Africa, Australia, and North and South America, lemongrass is widely used as a natural remedy for digestive issues, neurological problems, and high blood pressure. A fascinating fact is that Lemongrass is used in Africa as a treatment for coronary heart disease. Lemongrass reportedly has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It has traditionally been used as a pain reliever and fever reducer. Lemongrass contains citral, a natural plant compound with anti-inflammatory effects. It is a rich source of flavanoids and phenolic compounds, which contain antioxidants. It has many uses and properties for health, beauty and wellness.
Lemongrass, when used as an oil, is very potent and can irritate the skin when used topically. But when distilled like our Hydrosouls, it allows you to use it in a safer manner. Thus achieving its benefits to its fullest potential.
